Tahoma – Grades 7 and 8

The middle school years can be a dynamic and challenging experience for students and their families alike. Caught between childhood and adulthood, early teens struggle to assert their independence, cultivate their identities and generally find their places in the world. The Gardner School offers a unique environment for middle school children to discover their potentials by engaging in challenging academic work as well as activities and routines designed to cultivate character and integrity. Gardner’s middle years students are challenged to become inspired learners who in turn inspire others. Tahoma is a family, a community of curious learners, and a supportive cadre of young people learning to approach our work and each other with respect, integrity, curiosity, and deepening levels of critical inquiry.
