Board of Trustees

The Gardner School of Arts & Sciences is a non-profit organization governed by a Board of Trustees whose role includes strategic planning, financial oversight, and setting broad school policy.

Comprised of unpaid volunteers, the role of the Board of Trustees is to:

  • Hire and provide supervision to the Head of School

  • Guide the long-term direction of the school

  • Ensure that Gardner is operated in a manner consistent with our mission, non-profit status, and applicable laws

In Washington State, non-profit trustees have a legal obligation to make decisions for the good of the School and its long-term ability to operate and achieve its mission.

Community is a core value at Gardner. The Board warmly welcomes invited guests and community members to its meetings. Please reach out to the Board Chair (boardchair@gardnerschool.org) if you would like to attend an upcoming meeting.

Our Board of Trustees is actively recruiting for its committees as well as trustees for this and the coming school year. Please reach out to boardchair@gardnerschool.org to express interest!
