Gardner School Summer Camp Offerings 2026

All camps* are $375 per week.

*Robotics and Digital Art have an additional $50 materials fee, and students will take home their robots and digital drawing pads.

All camps run for one week from 9am - 3pm, Monday through Friday.

Registration opens February 1st, 2026 on Enrichment.kids.

  • School Readiness Week: The Tumtum, Mazama, and Kalama camps are limited to students enrolled in those classrooms for fall 2025

  • Beach Camp

    Description: Let’s go to the beach (in our imaginations!) Through the power of play-based learning, explore all things ocean, sand, sun, and water! Our Imagination Playground has a large sand area and water toys, a speed boat, and more!

  • Ceramics

    WITH TEACHER JOYCE

    6yrs - 8yrs

    Description: We will work with various clay, colored clay, and ceramic media. Use techniques to build a variety of objects, from pots and creatures to plaques and fidgets. Campers will take home everything that they make one week later. We will also spend lots of time outside exploring and playing on our 5 acre campus.

    ** Kiln-fired ceramic objects have to be bone dry and then fired twice, which takes time. Objects will be available for pick up 2 Fridays after camp completes (Friday, July 24th, 2026) on the porch of the yellow Farmhouse, in a box with your camper’s name. Stop by at your convenience to pick them up!)

    ** Concepts for the ‘Ceramics’ series are different for each week, and beginners are welcome to join each week.

  • Superhero Camp

    Description: You don’t have to be Team DC or Team Marvel to have a great time at this camp focused on Superheroes! Create your own comics, build super accessories, read about superheroes, and work out your powers through art and creative play.

  • Nature's Palette

    WITH TEACHER SARYN

    8yrs - 11yrs

    Description: Explore nature through artistic expression! Learn watercolor techniques and enjoy painting and sketching outdoors from natural scenes. We’ll spend time journaling in and about nature using mindfulness exercises and reflection, and learn to press leaves and flowers to incorporate into our work. We’ll collaborate on a mural of our various styles, and then showcase our creativity through an art gallery at the end of camp.

  • Chefs Academy

    WITH TEACHER DEVON

    9yrs - 14yrs

    Description: Spend a week as a real chef, cooking real food! Create a menu and open a “restaurant” with your kitchen team. Learn about different cuisines, kitchen safety, cooking techniques, and how to write your own recipes! All recipes will be nut-free, but can also be altered for other dietary or allergy needs if requested by June 15th.

  • Crafting Camp

    Description: Get ready to create with a variety of media and techniques! We’ll work with fabric, yarn, clay, glue, beads, wire, and more to craft fun creations to take home. We’ll also have lots of time to play outside, and incorporate natural items into our crafts.

  • Space Camp

    Description: Become an astronaut and explore all things Outer Space through play-based learning! Explore strange new worlds, design aliens, learn about rockets, investigate planets and stars, and engage in exploratory outdoor play!

  • Glue, Glue and More Glue!

    Description: Messy, creative fun involving every kid’s faorite medium, glue! We’ll use white glue, paste, and homemade glitter glue. Build and create bridges, boxes, art, and more with sticky substances, plus spend a lot of time outside exploring our campus and wetlands!

  • Spooky City!

    Description: A week dedicated to all things spooky, creepy, and mysterious!  Whether you’re a budding Wednesday Addams or just love Halloween, we’ll find fun in the creepy and kooky (but not too scary)!

  • Robotics (Session 1)

    Description: Learn how to code Edison robots. During camp we will learn how to navigate mazes, detect objects, and program decisions for our Edisons to make. This leads to us running multiple robot wresting tournaments during camp. Legos will be used during camp, but will be left at the school.

    *There is an additional $50 materials fee for this class. Campers will take home their own Edison robot!

    *Concepts for the ‘Robotics’ camps are the same each week.  Beginners are welcome in each week, as are repeat campers.  Those taking a second week can deepen their understanding and attempt more advanced skills, but the camps are not fundamentally different.

  • Survival Camp - the Basics

    Description: This survival-themed camp will teach campers outdoor skills, teamwork, and problem-solving in a natural setting. We’ll touch briefly on a variety of survival skills and topics to consider when preparing for outdoor adventures., and discuss our own skills and abilities that can translate to survival in the wild!

    *Survival Camps are a 4 part series this summer. Week 2 is Basics, Week 3is Safety, First Aid and Navigation, Week 4 is foraging, and Week 5 is wildlife. Campers are encouraged to attend as many as they would like, but there are no prerequisites - campers may attend any they choose.

  • LARP - Live Action Role Playing

    Description: Become a ranger, wizard, rogue , warrior and more in this week of roleplaying camp. Campers will develop their characters, design accessories and costume pieces, learn a bit of improv acting, and finally engage in a life roleplay game to flex their new LARP skills!

Week 3: July 20th - 24th

  • Safari Camp

    Description: This week we will take a safari to the wilds in dramatic play. We will go fishing, explore nature, take nature walks to find our own creatures, imagine what it’s like to be in a jungle or a rain forest, learn about bugs, and sing around the campfire.

  • Ceramics

    Description: Become a Master Builder! Use your imagination to build trains, structures, animals, and ships! We'll be building with legos, crafting with recycled materials, playing outside, and doing teamwork challenges to make ourselves the masters of our craft!

  • Winter in July

    Description: The weather outside is frightful, and the (faux) snow is so delightful!  We’ll imagine a winter wonderland, drink hot cocoa, do winter crafts, read wintertime books, learn about winter holidays,  and listen to holiday music around a (faux) fireplace!

  • Miniature and Diorama Construction

    Description: Build your own miniature world using a variety of techniques!  Master cardboard creations, hot glue, and air dry clay to build your own miniature rooms, fairy gardens, doll houses, and more using your imagination and found objects.

  • Survival - Safety, First Aid, and Navigation Skills

    Description: Learn how to stay safe outdoors and in emergencies.  We’ll cover the basics of first aid and learn how to stay safe in a variety of situations.  We’ll practice compass skills and orienteering strategies, and what to do in case you find yourself lost, learn how to treat basic injuries, and how to find help. Explore our (contained) wetlands on our campus, and possibly hike to the trail system at WSU-Vancouver nearby.

    *Survival Camps are a 4 part series this summer. Week 2 is Basics, Week 3 is Safety, First Aid and Navigation, Week 4 is foraging, and Week 5 is wildlife. Campers are encouraged to attend as many as they would like, but there are no prerequisites - campers may attend any they choose.

Week 4: July 27th - 31st

  • Trains, Planes, and Automobile Raceways

    Description: Spend a week exploring trains, planes, and  automobiles to build a raceway and town for your transportation to travel! We will also spend lots of time outside exploring and playing on our 5 acre campus.

  • Undercover at Waverly Academy

    Description: You've been hired as an undercover detective at the prestigious Waverly Academy. Night after night, a person who calls themselves "The Black Cat" has been sabotaging the students' prized possessions and leaving cryptic messages on the school grounds. Will you be able to unmask The Black Cat before time is up, or will they find you first?

  • Digital Art (Session 1)

    Description: Learn how to create digital art and animation with tools such as a digital drawing tablet.  Campers will use Blender, a free animation software package, and Krita, an open source digital drawing package.  Computers will be provided for use at camp; students will take home their newfound skills and parents will receive information on where to download the free software we use!

     $50 Materials fee - take home your own Wacom drawing tablet and wireless mouse!

    *Concepts for the ‘Digital Art’ camps are the same each week.  Beginners are welcome in each week, as are repeat campers.  Those taking a second week can deepen their understanding and attempt more advanced skills, but the camps are not fundamentally different.


  • Survival - Eating Wild

    Description: What would you eat if you were lost in the wilderness?  We’ll discuss the variety of plants available in the Pacific Northwest, how to identify safe food options, and do a bit of foraging.  We’ll also discuss what not to eat, and how to make safe choices in an emergency situation.

    *Survival Camps are a 4 part series this summer. Week 2 is Basics, Week 3is Safety, First Aid and Navigation, Week 4 is foraging, and Week 5 is wildlife. Campers are encouraged to attend as many as they would like, but there are no prerequisites - campers may attend any they choose.

  • RPG (Tabletop Role Playing Games)

    Description: Build a character, pick a class, learn the ins and outs of tabletop roleplaying games (Dungeons and Dragons, Daggerheart, Pathfinder, etc.)  We’ll have time to play adventures, of course!

    Students will get a set of dice and a mini figure to take home, along with character sheets and skills that will transfer to other RPGs!  

Week 5: August 3rd - 7th

  • Science and More Science!

    Description: Do you love science? We will explore science through hands-on activities, sparking curiosity, building engineering skills, experimenting, problem-solving and teamwork. Science is fun and messy!  We will be exploring nature in our garden and wetlands. All substances are kid friendly, but please let us know if your child has any allergies or sensitivities to wheat, cornstarch, baking soda, salt, etc.

  • Champion Camp

    Description: Take on challenges and become the ultimate champion! Collect points in every challenge by dodging obstacles, outsmarting puzzles, building creations, and racing to the finish line! Keep active and become a champion with your team!

  • Fairy Camp

    Description: From fairy rings to fairy houses, explore the fairy lands of our wetlands and campus, create fairy-enticing crafts, read about fairy tales around the world, and sprinkle your world with the pixie dust of your imagination!

    Description: What kinds of animals and creatures would you expect to see in the Pacific Northwest?  From the small to the tall, explore our own wetlands and surroundings for signs of animals, and hopefully find a few wild residents!  We’ll talk about safety when encountering larger animals, which ones are friendly, and how to behave in the animals’ own homes when we visit!

  • Cryptids and Creations

    Description: From the Mothman and Nessie to our own beloved Sasquatch, explore the creepy, curious world of cryptids!  As part of our studies, we’ll build models, habitats, and invent our own weird world!

Week 6: August 10th- 14th

While our incoming Preschool, Pre-K, and Kindergarten students prepare for new school adventures during School Readiness Week (see below), students who have completed Kindergarten can attend a final week of Summer Camp!

  • Tumtum Fun Start Camp

    Incoming Tumtum students for Fall 2027/2027 Only.

    Description: Designed for our youngest adventurers, this camp helps our incoming Tumtummers feel comfortable with the transition of leaving parents and entering school for the first time. Get to know your new classroom, the teacher, and the school routines, all before the first day. Practice circle time activities and get a head start on what it’s like to be at school! While exploring at their own pace, campers will get to build relationships with their future teacher and classmates.

  • Mazama Readiness Camp

    Incoming Mazama students for Fall 2026/2027 Only.

    Description: Partly a summer camp, partly a scheduled routine to get us in the groove for the upcoming school year! This camp is for incoming Mazama students to get to know their teachers, classroom, and new friends before the school year begins. There will be lots of outdoor play, crafts, and creative activities!

  • Kalama Kickoff Camp

    Incoming Kalama students for Fall 2026/2027 Only.

    Description: Partly a summer camp, partly a scheduled routine to get us in the groove for the upcoming school year! This camp is for incoming Kalama students to get to know their teacher, classroom, and new friends before the school year begins.

    We will be making one clay object with low fire clay and non toxic glazes. Ceramics will be ready about the 3rd week of school.

  • Scout Camp

    (Incoming Kalama students should enroll in the Kalama Kickoff camp.)

    Description: Spend the week as a scout! Earn badges for art, cooking, scavenging, science, community and more! Become a part of the troop and collect all the badges!

  • Comedy and Improv

    Description: Do you want to be a stand up comedian?  Ever had the urge to perform skits for friends?  We’ll explore improv techniques, learn how to say, “Yes…and…”, understand pacing and delivery, and make each other laugh!
