Janexis Zapata
Spanish Teacher
Janexis began her teaching career in Venezuela in 2019, working with students from preschool through middle school in both classroom and enrichment settings. She holds a degree in Communication with a focus on audiovisual media, and her background in radio and television production sharpened her creativity and organizational skills—both of which she brings to her work in education. Since moving to the U.S. in 2021, Janexis has worked as a Spanish language educator and teaching assistant in bilingual immersion programs and Montessori classrooms, supporting children’s language development through music, storytelling, games, and hands-on activities.
In class, Janexis emphasizes joy, connection, and creativity. She’s passionate about making Spanish fun and accessible, and she loves building meaningful relationships with her students.
Outside of school, Janexis is an animal lover and lifelong creative. She lives in Vancouver with her husband, two dogs, and two cats, and enjoys baking, making origami, and helping animals whenever she can.
